AIRe 1/2025 – The Growing Complexity of Regulating AI
Issue 1/2025 of the Journal of AI Law and Regulation (AIRe) is now available. The editorial urges the AI community to continue working towards fairness and non-discrimination in the technology and the field, despite current challenges. The articles section presents in-depth analyses from around the world and on diversity of topics: the design of the US FDA’s software as a medical device approval process, informed by case studies from the EU, Canada and UK; Part I of the comprehensive study of AI ‘law(s)’ in China; an analysis of the explanations concerning decision-making under the GDPR and the AI Act; and an evaluation of the compatibility of existing international risk management standards (ISO) with EU AI Act requirements.
In AIRe 1/2025, we feature an opinion piece from the UK’s Digital Regulation Cooperation Forum. It’s a valuable read for gaining a better understanding about cooperation between digital regulators.
