Paolo Casalino
General Director of the DG for Industrial Policy, Industrial Crisis and Reconversion, Innovation, SMEs and Made in Italy at the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT)
Paolo Casalino is the General Director of the DG for Industrial Policy, Industrial Crisis and Reconversion, Innovation, SMEs and Made in Italy at the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT). He is the Coordinator for MIMIT of the bilateral working groups with the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) in the framework of the German-Italian Action Plan and of the bilateral working groups with the French Ministry of Economics, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty in the framework of the Italian-French Quirinal Treaty.
A former international student of the National School of Administration (ENA) (CIP, ‘Louis Pasteur’ class of 2018), he holds degrees in law from Italy, in Public Administration and Finance from Sciences Po Strasbourg, as well as in International Relations and Diplomacy from Lyon 3 Jean Moulin University.
Prior to his current role, he served as the Director of the Brussels office of the Italian region of Apulia region and as the General Director for the Mission Unit for the implementation of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) both at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests (MASAF) and at MIMIT.
He is fluent in Italian, English, and French, with basic knowledge of Spanish and Arabic.
