Lorenzo is a senior expert in capacity building with a noticeable track record in the design of learning processes, gained as executive education coordinator of an international business school. In the framework of a series of European Commission initiatives, he is adopting a systematic approach to enhance the administrative capacities of the authorities managing EU funds belonging to cohesion policy. Between 2016 and 2018 he was key expert of the European Commission and European Investment Bank platform fi-compass, devoted to enhance the use of financial instruments in European Structural and Investment Funds. As an evaluator, Lorenzo covered both his key topic, i.e. administrative capacity, and European Territorial Cooperation with a focus on the Alpine area.
