Ketill Einarsson
Deputy Director, State Aid Unit, EFTA Surveillance Authority, Brussels
Ketill Einarsson has served as the Deputy Director of the EFTA Surveillance Authority’s State Aid Unit since March 2021. Prior to taking up his current position he worked as a senior legal officer and case handler at the State Aid Unit for over 8 years dealing with notifications, complaints, and existing aid reviews involving various forms of State aid. He worked as a legal adviser at the Icelandic public administration before moving to Brussels. He has a master’s degree in law from the University of Iceland and a postgraduate degree in competition law from King’s College. He has spoken at several international state aid conferences and seminars and been a guest lecturer on EU/EEA law and state aid law at the University of Iceland and Reykjavík University.
