Georges Freyssinet

Georges Freyssinet worked as a teacher/researcher at the University (France and North America) for twenty years. He joined Rhône-Poulenc (RP) Agro in 1984 to develop plant cell and molecular biology. In 1992, he was appointed Scientific Advisor to the Scientific Direction of RP.
In 1998, he became General Manager of RhoBio, a joint venture between RP Agro and Biogemma working on plant genomic and genetically modified crops. He is one of the founders of LemnaGene SA, a BioManufacturing company of which he was General Manager from 2003 to 2005.
In 2006, he joined the Scientific Department of the Limagrain Group, then in 2011 was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Genective, a joint venture between the Limagrain and KWS Groups developing genetically modified maize.
Since 2014, he works as a consultant in the field of plant biotechnology. In 2019, he was elected President of the French Plant Biotechnology Association (AFBV).
