Claire Carrega is a member of the Legal Service of the European Commission, currently working in the State aid team. Her areas of expertise include State aid in relation to energy, environment, land and maritime transport. Prior to joining the Legal Service, she worked on antitrust and merger cases in the Directorate-General for Competition of the European Commission. Before joining the Commission, she was an associate lawyer at Latham & Watkins, specialised in EU and international competition law. Mrs Carrega studied law in France (Aix-Marseille III, Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne), in Canada (McGill University) and in Belgium (College of Europe, Bruges).
