April Pelin works for the European Commission, DG Competition, where she is responsible for the application of the State aid rules in the field of post & other sectors. In this role, April is responsible for policy coordination in relation to Services of General Economic Interest (SGEI). Previously, April was involved in the State Aid Modernization initiative, in particular on the General Block Exemption Regulation (2014). April has broad experience with recovery policy matters, monitoring of State aid, cooperation with national courts as well as training programmes for national judges. Before joining the Commission, April worked for several years as an associate with an international law firm in Brussels, where she advised companies on EU Competition and State Aid Law. April holds an LL.M degree in EU Business Law from the University of Amsterdam, as well as a Post-Graduate Diploma in Economics for Competition Law from King’s College, London.
