The Instrument for Pre-Accession (IPA), launched by the EU in 2007, provides financial and technical support to countries seeking EU membership. Replacing earlier assistance programs, the IPA helps these countries align with EU standards in areas such as institution building, socio-economic development, governance reforms, infrastructure, and adopting EU legislation.

What challenges does the IPA face in effectively supporting EU enlargement? What criteria do candidate countries need to meet to access IPA funding, and how is the allocation of funds determined? These questions and more will be addressed during our online workshop.
