Hubert de Broca

Mr. de Broca joined DG Competition in 2000. He has been serving as the Head of Unit overseeing enforcement and policy development in the field of regional aid and infrastructure, since 2018. The Unit is also in charge of the implementation of section 2.8 of the Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework, which applies to manufacturing aid. Previously, Mr de Broca held different positions in the enforcement of antitrust rules, in the pharmaceutical Unit, the antitrust policy Unit and the transport Unit, the latter which he headed for almost 10 years. Before joining the Commission, Mr de Broca worked in the Paris and Brussels offices of the Gide Loyrette Nouel law firm (1990-1995). He also served as a référendaire at the EU General Court from 1995 to 2000. Mr. de Broca studied political science at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Bordeaux, and studied law at Paris Sorbonne University and at New York University. He is registered at the Paris and New York bars.
