Professor Dr. Antonis Metaxas teaches EU and EU Competition and State Aid Law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and acts as Director of the Department of International and European Studies at the University of Athens and Chairman of the Hellenic State Aid Institute. He is also a Visiting Professor in various distinguished universities in Greece and abroad (TU Berlin). He has completed his doctoral studies at the Free University of Berlin with ‘summa cum laude’ and authored numerous scholarly works, including books, articles in peer-reviewed journals, and edited volumes in the fields of EU law, EU State Aid law and Energy law.
In his capacity as a legal practitioner, Professor Metaxas is recognized as a leading lawyer in his field by all independent international Legal Directories (e.g. Chambers & Partners, the Legal 500) and acts as legal advisor to a number of governments, regulatory authorities as well as major private and institutional clients.
