Peter Loosen

Peter Loosen has been Managing Director of BLL (Bund für Lebensmittelrecht und Lebensmittelkunde e.V.), the German federation for food law and food science, since 2007. He became Head of the Brussels Office of BLL in 2003. BLL is the federation representing business operators in Germany across the board, agriculture, craftsmen, industry, retailers, suppliers, and also lawyers, consultants and many more – with 250 industry and 24 retailer companies, 85 federations, 90 individual and 75 “corporate” members. BLL also represents the German food supplements industry in its special working group (AK NEM) of food supplements companies with more than 50 members in its specific working group BLL AK NEM. Besides counselling members, he focuses on the representation of members‘ interests to the European institutions and is chair of the board of Food Supplements Europe the Europen Association representing food supplements businesses. Peter Loosen regularly publishes articles on food law and is a speaker at seminars and conferences. Moreover, he is visiting lecturer for food law at the University of Bonn, Germany.
