Alun Williams

Alun Williams is the lead for External Stakeholder Engagement within the Chemicals, Pesticides and Hazardous Waste (CPHW) team at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). Alun’s role has primarily concentrated on ensuring UK businesses are aware of their obligations under UK REACH in the event of a no deal Brexit scenario. Alun has also worked on sector readiness, contingency planning and international pesticides strategy within the CPHW team. Prior to joining the UK government, Alun worked for several years within the healthcare science industry, primarily on the accredited registration strategy implemented by NHS England and on an equivalence programme that supported Modernising Scientific Careers, with the aim of developing a sustainable workforce for the future of the NHS.
