Inese Levana
Senior Auditor of EU Funds Audit Department, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Latvia, AFCOS Member, Riga
Inese Levana works at the EU Funds Audit Department of the Ministry of Finance in Latvia, which is the Audit Authority for ESI Funds, RRF as well as EEA/ Norwegian instruments, Swiss Contribution and other funding in Latvia. The Department is acting also as Anti-fraud Coordination Service (AFCOS) in Latvia ensuring cooperation among ministries and authorities in matters concerning the protection of EU financial interests. Inese has been focusing on structural funds audits since 2015, specifically on 2014-2020 programming period designation process and system audits on MA and IB levels. Currently she is involved in 2014-2020 closure process audit as well as 2021-2027 audit strategy development and preparation of the Annual Control report for the European Commission. Apart from system audits and audits of operations, her responsibilities include are related also to the quality control for the Audit Authority’s work and IT systems. She also participated as a speaker in different seminars for managers and auditors of the EU funds, as well as an expert in Twinning and TAIEX projects. Prior to EU funds audits, she has also worked with Ernst & Young Baltic office risk advisory services, which included a range of assignments in public sector in Latvia.
