Morris Schonberg

Morris Schonberg is a competition and international trade lawyer, with a particular focus in relation to EU State aid and subsidy control.  Morris has over 10 years of experience assisting clients in assessing State aid and subsidy issues and obtaining relevant approvals for their projects, as well as in relation to State aid complaints, investigations and litigation.  Morris also has significant experience in relation to subsidy matters in the international trade law sphere and has advised clients on subsidy issues arising under WTO and trade-defence rules.

Morris recently completed a PhD at the London School of Economics and Political Science, focusing on the notion of selective advantage under EU State aid law.  He is co-editor of the State Aid Division of the Butterworths Competition Law Service and a contributing author to ‘EU State Aids’, edited by Hancher, Ottervanger and Slot.
