Leonie Evans is Rechtsanwältin (attorney), bar-certified specialist for intellectual property law and partner at the Munich based law firm Meisterernst Rechtsanwälte. She studied law at the University of Passau and at King’s College London as an Erasmus scholar where she obtained a Diploma in Legal Studies with distinction.

Leonie Evans joined Meisterernst Rechtsanwälte in 2012 and became a partner in 2023. She advises and represents national and international clients in all matters of German and European food and feed law as well as intellectual property and competition law. The focus of her legal work is on providing comprehensive advice to nationally and internationally operating companies in the food industry, in particular on issues of product categorization and marketability (including the distinction from medicinal products and medical devices), on labelling and product advertising of food supplements, foods for special medical purposes (FSMP), organic and conventional foodstuffs. Leonie Evans also focuses on sustainability issues, including green claims, the EU Green Deal, packaging law, the German Act on supply chain due diligence (LkSG) and EU sustainability legislation.

Leonie Evans is Managing Editor of the European Food and Feed Law Review (EFFL), author of German and in English publications and a regular speaker at conferences in Germany and abroad. She is a member of the European Food Law Association (efla), a member of the Committee for Sustainability and Climate Protection of the German Medicines Manufacturers’ Association (BAH) and a member of the Sustainability and Climate Change Working Group of the Food Federation Germany.
